Why The Perfect Golfing Partner Is A Gps

Posted in Golf Equipment, Golf Tips  by admin
March 3rd, 2010

You might be surprised learning that there’s a modern instrument for your golf arsenal, an digital device that genuinely lives up to the claim that it might really improve your golf game. There are currently GPS units specially designed for use on the golf course.

What’s a golf GPS? Utilizing the same means of communicating with satellites to determine your location as your car GPS, the crucial piece of data provided by all golf GPS models is your range and direction to the hole. Having this data can help you make strategic choices regarding golf club type, direction and needed quantity of power for your shot. In addition, a golf GPS can help you in situations when you are playing on a course for the first time. In this way the golf GPS is able to help level the playing field and take away the advantage from competitors who are already experienced with the course.

Higher-end golf GPS models can also determine the distance traveled for your previous shot, alert you to the presence of water hazards and bunkers and direct you to target locations. It is easy to zoom in on the current position and analyze your position in relation to targets or other portions of the course. The GPS stores all of this data so that you can refer to it later on. Several units feature a course recognition feature which automatically recognizes the course you are playing on.

Higher-end golf GPS Navigation models will log data about all of your shots in a round, permitting golfers to view and analyze their performance. Others have a scorecard feature which tracks your score and then summarizes the information for your evaluation.

To utilize a golf GPS, you should have a relatively unobstructed view of the sky so that the GPS can easily communicate with satellites. From then on, it is very straightforward. Unlike with laser rangefinders, there is no need to point a GPS at a target in order to get a yardage assessment. Even if the target is outside of your field of vision, the GPS will still manage to offer a reading. A steady hand and a sharp eye aren’t needed in order to enjoy the rewards of a golf GPS.

Another factor to consider is the fact that while you’re outside on the green, you want to spend less time reading and more time playing. Using a golf GPS unit means you will not need to keep referring to a yardage book, which can slow you down. Keeping score also gets much less complicated without a miniature pencil to lose. Consequently, a golf GPS can decrease the time it requires you to play a round. Lastly, perhaps the most obvious benefit–the analysis performed by a GPS can help you reduce your number of strokes and improve your game.

Golf GPS products receiving the best customer reviews include offerings from Garmin (including the popular GolfLogix and upper-end Approach models), together with products from Golf Buddy, SkyCaddie and Bushnell. If you already own an iPhone or iPod touch, you’re already carrying a GPS with you, which means you might consider investing in an iPhone app. The top-rated Golfshot Golf GPS receives the top owner ratings and claims to furnish access to over 27,000 golf courses and no monthly or annual fee.

Beginners Golfing Tips-To Golf Better With 3 Keys

Posted in Golf Tips  by admin
March 1st, 2010

Golf is an exciting game in which, each step you take can intensify or decrease your probability of winning. Those who envision golf as a tense competition will not be likely to succeed because of the tension and stress that routinely builds up once you come up with the scores in your mind. You have to take the part of a relaxing game concentrating on your shots not including worrying around the results and money. Golf is effortless and fun if you know the three essentials that help you relinquish textbook shots all point in time. You have to focus your attention on all three to participate a pleasant game on the golf course.

1. Knowledge in relation to the course – Before you participate on several course, you have to know in relation to the course. The golf course has sand, grass, and every so often tall trees. You need to know the geography of the course so that you can set up even prior to you drive the ball. Many golfers have the inclination of hitting the ball harder so that the ball is driven much farther. This is not a pro methodology for the reason that you don’t know what your next shot will be. Sometimes, your ball possibly will be in close proximity the hole or you possibly will end up with a fried egg.

2. Pre-Shot routine – You might have heard from the experts about the value of a pre-shot routine. This routine is as easy as a victory recipe. Your brain knows what works on behalf of you and when you are on course, you have to carry out the recipe to play a victorious shot. The pre shot routine comprises of step by step information that allow you to focus your attention on the ball and followed by swing effortlessly. This can be achieved simply after high-quality practice.

3. The real shot – Even though you have a routine, it is the shot that determines your real game play. When you know the course, you know the shot to facilitate you have to play. Your mind works quicker to determine pre-shot routine to carry out the definite shot. Now, you have to stretch your body and coordinate it with your mind to play the shot. It is next to this point that your body works in harmony with your mind.

Golf requires you to be mentally and physically fit. The above three essentials can help you just if you are fully concentrated on your game. Also, your body must be in a condition to pay attention to your mind and function accordingly. When you have your mind on work etc., you cannot concentrate by the book on the game. Even though you play for fun, you must dedicate it your full attention as soon as you play golf.

Physical fitness is equally crucial to mental strength. Many golfers complain of problems with their tense muscles when they play. You have to take steps to tone your muscles using golf exercises that consist of stretching and resistance training workouts. If you are equipped physically and mentally, subsequently you have to practice all the shots following the above three steps in so as to order to dominate the golf course.

Hot Golf Irons for Sale 2009 and New Golf Clubs 2010

Posted in Golf Equipment  by admin
January 15th, 2010

Hot golf Irons for sale in 2009 and the new golf clubs for sale in 2010 are listed below for you to compare and purchase.

Titleist 2010 AP2 Irons $368.99 with free shipping at Golf Sale

Building upon the high technology design and resounding success of the original AP irons, Titleist introduces the new high performance AP2 irons for avid golfers. The Titleist AP2 are multi-material, dual cavity irons that take the design mission of “Advanced Performance You Can Feel” to new heights. The concept for the original Advanced Performance irons arose as a result of research that indicated serious golfers want performance with great feel, not performance at the expense of feel. The Titleist R&D team’s advanced research group has been conducting extensive sound and vibration analysis aimed at reducing the harsh lower frequency vibration that causes poor feel in irons. This research led to combining several technologies and materials in the back cavity of the new AP irons resulting in a new Tuned Feel System to take feel to a new level. The new Tuned Feel System is a co-molded medallion of soft elastomer and aluminum plate. This insert has been specifically designed to improve the sound and feel of each new iron. For the new AP2, a softer, more solid feel is achieved. Other subtle refinements to the new AP2 have created performance gains in feel, sound, and turf interaction.

Titleist AP2 Iron Set $298.99

Titleist AP2 irons provide a comfortable and confidence-inspiring appearance in the set up position with a traditional blade profile and hosel junction. The metallic back cavity plate contributes to the AP2’s great looks and bag appeal.

Features:

Multi-material, dual cavity, technically forged

Advanced performance with a traditional solid feel and looks

provide shot control for the skilled player handicap 5-9

Callaway X-22 Iron Set $299.99

The legendary performance of the X Series in a new iron with even more forgiveness.
The goal of our X-Series Irons has always been lofty: Set the performance standard for the industry. We’ve done it again with the X-22 Irons, the best X-Series Irons we’ve ever made. The perimeter weighting of the X-22s has been maximized for a moment of inertia (MOI) that’s 10 percent higher than their predecessors, meaning you get more forgiveness on off-center strikes. The ideal center of gravity position has been preserved, generating optimal ball-flight trajectories. We’ve also incorporated the Modified Tru-Bore design, dampening vibration for enhanced feel. The tour-inspired head shape has a slightly thinner topline and sole with a large sweet spot for improved aesthetics and forgiveness to boost your confidence.

Precision Notch Weighting
Precisely positions more weight to the perimeter of the iron to create a higher moment of inertia (MOI) for greater forgiveness and stability while maintaining the center of gravity position that produces ideal trajectories and feel.

Tour-Inspired Head Shape
Our engineers took elements designed for Tour players, like a thinner top line and narrower sole, and incorporated them into highly forgiving irons with a higher MOI so they can be played by a wide range of golfers.

Modified Tru-Bore
An advanced version of the original Tru-Bore design, the polycarbonate tip plug at the end of the shaft dampens vibration for enhanced feel and performance.

VFT Technology
VFT Technology maximizes ball speed and perimeter weighting for more distance and forgiveness; S2H2 increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hosel and repositioning it in the perimeter of the clubhead; 360-Degree Undercut Channel maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the CG lower and farther back in the clubhead, enlarging the hitting area and stabilizing the clubhead for more forgiveness.

2009 New Taylormade R9 Irons $468.99

The R9 features a dual head design made for both performance and control. the 3-5 irons feature a high repulsion face with hollow cavity structure for increased distance. The 6-Wedge feature a more compact undercut pocket cavity with a focus on feel, control and accuracy. The R9 features variable face thickness. Starting with 2.0mm thick face in the long irons to 2.3mm in the mid irons and 2.5mm in the short irons for enhanced feel.

TaylorMade R9 Irons

Taylormade utilizes its inverted cone technology to expand the sweet area reducing overall loss on off center hits. The multifunctional sole is versatile and made to excel in any lie. The new R9 has traditional lofts with a 27.5* 5 iron and is considered between mid and compact size with less offset. The new grooves are USGA/R&A Conforming.

Ping G15 Irons $339.99

The technology of the G15 Iron provides the high-launching, maximum forgiveness benefits that the majority of golfers rely on to bring consistency to their iron play. The stainless steel iron’s cavity design features a new Custom Tuning Port (CTP) which expands the perimeter weighting and increases the moment of inertia. Weight savings from a thinner face is re-positioned to the toe for added forgiveness on mis-hits and its wider sole produces a higher launch angle. Stronger lofts combine with a center of gravity located low and farther from the face to produce longer shots without sacrificing the higher trajectory required in a maximum forgiveness iron.

Features:

New Custom Tuning Port (CTP) saves 7 grams which is re-positioned to perimeter
for increased MOI
Stronger lofts for increased distance without sacrificing launch angle
Wider sole positions center of gravity lower and farther back for increased launch angle
Weight savings from thin-face design is reallocated to toe for increased MOI.

Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth Putter

Posted in Golf Equipment  by admin
January 9th, 2010

Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth Putter at http://www.clubgolfsale.com

Look and Feel
The first thing that sets this putter apart from other mallet putters on the market is the radical headshape, that resembles the fangs of a Sabertooth Tiger. Constructed of stainless steel with a brushed matte finish, the overall look of the Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth, is quite striking, even if it slightly reminded me of the Batman logo. The Sabertooth Dual Fangs position 38% of the putters weight to the outside of putter for a high MOI design, which results in more stability and accuracy. According to Odyssey, “The design produces an MOI level higher than our most stable 2-Ball putters.” I’ve played a round of golf with an Odyssey 2-Ball putter and found this to be an accurate statement. The other key feature of this putter are the Aiming Channels inside the fangs that make lining up your putts easier, coupled with a textured multi-layer insert. Another great design feature of the Aiming Channels is you can also scoop your ball off the green, eliminating the need to bend down and pick up the ball. The stainless steel double-bend and full-offset shaft gives the White Hot XG Sabertooth a balanced swing in your putting stroke.

Performance
Does the Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth live up to its billing? Absolutely! The new White Hot XG Sabertooth Putter represents the latest in innovative high MOI designs from Odyssey. Featuring the most radical head shape in golf, the Sabertooth utilizes high-density Dual Fangs to position more weight to the outer-most limits, helping keep the putter on-line during the stroke for wicked accuracy. The design produces a MOI level higher than Odyssey’s most stable 2-Ball putters. The Aiming Channels inside the fangs makes lining up putts easier and the multi-layer White Hot XG insert, Odyssey’s most popular and most responsive insert, generates Odyssey’s softest feel with fine-tuned responsiveness

Posted in Golf Tips  by admin
January 1st, 2010

Instructions
A lot of golfers really battle to hit straight drives and getting off to a good start is such a confidence booster. There is nothing better than a good drive at the start of a round of golf. You will have a great day if you can hit straight drives off every tee. Follow the steps below, and you will get much surprise.
Things You’ll Need:
• patience
• golf ball
• tee
• driver
1. Step 1
Tee the ball so that half the ball is above the club head, while sitting behind the ball. take your address stance at the ball. Grip your club and push straight out ahead of you at chest height.
2. Step 2
Lower your arms straight down in front of you and let the clubhead rest on the ground, this is how far away from the ball you should be. A common mistake most golfers make is that they get to close or too far away from the ball.
3. Step 3
Try to keep your body as upright as possible, stay loose with shoulders hands and and chest facing square forward.Bring the clubhead back smooth and constant, letting it turn naturally with the take away,go until the left arm wants to bend slightly, this is your high point,at this point you want all the momentum to transfer back into the downswing downswing.
4. Step 4
Once everything comes back to center at the bottom, then all momentum switches to the follow through, your hands should finish high and back over your left shoulder,(if right handed) Right shoulder (if left handed). Check out my resources below for links to my favorite golf suppy site.

The Tiger Woods Scandal

Posted in Golf Equipment  by admin
December 3rd, 2009

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

And it concludes:
I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

And in-between, Woods makes a compelling plea for privacy:
For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.
But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.

I have to wonder whether any of these affair stories would have reached the mainstream press had it not been for the car accident. The first National Enquirer story alleging an affair appeared a couple days prior to the accident. To that point, I had chosen not to repeat any of the rumors and innuendo here. But when the accident happened, it thrust the rumors into the full light of day, with mainstream media outlets picking up on them and repeating them.

But Woods is right when he says, in the statement, “Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.” That may be what our celebrity- and gossip-driven culture now demands, but the people of whom the demand is being made don’t have to comply.

Now that Woods has, in an indirect way, confessed to marital infidelity, I find his behavior in that regard very disappointing. But it’s up to Elin whether Woods deserves to be punished, and in what way. Woods’ decision to remain publicly mum – to avoid a weepy press conference, to refuse to contribute to the spectacle – is something I admire.
